The purpose of today's webinar is to highlight some of the key components of the plan and provide more background information on them. We hope that this discussion will generate thoughts and feedback that can be used to improve the plan. Please take advantage of the online surveys we have set up to provide your feedback. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was passed on December 10th, 2015, and was signed into law by President Obama. It replaces the No Child Left Behind Act and is the main education law in the nation. ESSA received strong bipartisan support and is aimed at promoting equal educational opportunities for traditionally underserved children. It is a civil rights law at its core. During this webinar, we will not be taking questions, as it is designed to provide information rather than interactive discussion.
